Operator and contact

Roleplay Nations 2 is operated by MATKO Interactive Software. For questions about this page, or to request deletion of your data, contact an administrator on our Discord server.

Data received at sign-in

Sign-in uses Discord. Discord provides your account ID, username, avatar and email address. We also read whether your email is verified, whether two-factor authentication is enabled, and the age of the account, because sign-in requires all three.

Signing in with Google instead provides your Google account ID, name, email address and profile picture.

We do not receive your password and we request no other permissions. We cannot read your messages, your servers or your contacts.

IP addresses

Each sign-in records the IP address the request came from, the browser's user agent string, and the time. We retain these records for 30 days.

We use them to detect one person operating several accounts. Accounts that share a connection cannot transfer currency, goods, contracts or war reparations to each other. Every other function continues to work. Administrators review these matches and can clear them.

If two people in the same household both play, contact an administrator and we will record the accounts as separate.

The security checkpoint

Before the game is served, Cloudflare Turnstile presents a check that distinguishes a browser from an automated client. Cloudflare receives your IP address and characteristics of your browser in order to run it. Passing the check sets the cookie described below.

An IP address that has been banned is refused at this point and again at sign-in.

Data the game stores while you play

Your nation and its contents: name, territory, currency, buildings, trades, wars, and anything you publish in The Wire or the newspaper. Other players see the parts of that the game exposes to them.

Anything you write in the game is visible to other players.

Cookies

Two cookies, both set by this site and sent to no other. Neither is used for advertising or tracking.

  • A session cookie, set at sign-in, which identifies your account. It expires after seven days.
  • A checkpoint cookie, set when you pass the security check, which records that the check was passed and the address range it was passed from. It expires after seven days.

Who else processes your data

We do not sell or rent it. These companies handle parts of it because they run the infrastructure.

  • Discord and Google, when you sign in with them.
  • Cloudflare, which carries traffic between your browser and the game and runs the security checkpoint, and therefore sees your IP address.
  • Netlify, which hosts this website and stores the waitlist.

This website also loads a stylesheet and a script from two public CDNs, and the trailer from YouTube's no-cookie player. Each of those receives your IP address when the page loads.

The waitlist

Joining the waitlist stores your Discord ID, username, email address and the IP address you joined from, so that we can contact you and so that one person cannot claim many places. We delete the waitlist once the playtest has started.

Access and deletion

You can delete your nation from within the game at any time.

On request to an administrator we will delete your account and the data attached to it, or send you a copy of it, within 30 days. Two things remain afterwards: posts other players have replied to, and the record of a ban, which we retain so that a ban cannot be evaded by registering again.

This is a playtest

The game is unfinished. We may reset the world and delete every nation in it, and we announce a reset on Discord beforehand.

Age

Playing requires a Discord account, and Discord's own terms set the minimum age. If you are under 13, or under the minimum age where you live, you cannot play.

Changes

We announce changes to this page on Discord. The date above records the last revision.
